I am a fruit lover. I love to eat any kind of fruits and vegetables. Thank God for giving mankind these kinds of plants. Hubby and I enjoyed eating fruits when we’re in Thailand. We love it so much…
I love to eat red apples and other red fruits. I also love to eat red potatoes. I just wonder my kiddos didn’t like apples so much, it’s weird but I need to force them to eat. One of my dreams is to pick up some apples fresh from the tree, lol! It’s kind of nice feeling I guess, if I go up to the tree and get some and eat, lol!
Apples have a lot of nutrients given if we take it. It sustains and keeps us going. I remember one time when I was still studying and taking my Bachelor’s Degree. One of teachers told us that he was eating apple early in the morning to make his breath cool and to strengthen his teeth. He was so conscious about health and his body. And that’s true, eating apples, tomatoes and other fruits make our skin healthy and makes us on the go.
I would like to join Food Trip Friday. This is my first time and glad I made it. On the other hand, I’m still enjoying to share Yummy Sunday photos. Glad to share this yummy durian as what my hubby said because I’m not an eater maybe because of the smell.
I don’t think hubby is getting the best food ever with this durian fruits. This kind of fruit can give you a lot of cholesterol if you take in to your body. However, a lot of people enjoyed eating this kind of fruit. According to them, it’s very delicious and yummy.
On the other hand, fruits like rambutan is one of my favorites. I really loved this. We were able to buy fresh from the fruit tree. Try to look at the pictures below:
Looks great right? We enjoyed getting all the rambutan fruits. It was an enjoyable moment for us.
It’s nice to be counted and be known to some blogs. There is a blog that is looking for the blog for the week. Mine is not that okay I guess, but was seen to be one of those that attract readers. Check out this blog, it’s a Diet Plan. I was excited to see my blog in the site. And my share for this week’s Mellow Yellow Monday.
Fruits are good for health. Every time I’m sick I ate a lot of it. We enjoyed buying kilos of fruits. You can get a lot of vitamins and minerals. Wanna try some? Fruits in Thailand are quite cheap and fresh too. Oh how I missed those days. Here in the Phil. fruits are quite expensive due to 2nd and 3rd parties. I mean from the owners’ themselves, there’s a need of 2 or 3 persons to get the lower price and had a chance to make the price higher than expected. While in Thailand, I could still remember, there were no 2nd or 3rd parties. The owners would sell their own fruits from their hectares of orchard and sell it nearby. Usually, they sell it with their “Isuzu” cars and prices are already posted on the cars. You ca choose which car has the lowest price of fruits and you can buy more that 3 kilos for just a hundred.
I really love staying there. The only problem we have had was the schooling of our children which for us is non-negotiable. So we opted to come back and send our kids to school. Maybe someday somehow, we will be there again and enjoy these fruits we love most. Hubby would buy more than 3 kilos of mangosteen, another kilo of green mangoes that so sweet, another kilo of rambotan and other fruits available and usually I will be the one to finally eat it. That’s me!
When we’re in Thailand few years ago, we have seen many fruits that I haven’t tried yet. A lot of times we saw in the wet market, in the supermarket or even in malls. I was tempted to buy since I love to eat fruits and vegetables. However, I’m scared of the taste. After few months hubby and I were doing window shopping and while looking at the different kinds and colors of the fruits properly placed in the fruit stand we were tempted to take a look and we bought one which we haven’t tried for the rest of our lives.
We’re scared of that fruit because of the name. It sounds dangerous and I’m scared of the name itself. Anyhow, we bought and tried at home. That was known as dragon fruit. For may years we saw it but we hadn’t tried. We even didn’t know of the benefit it may give to our body. Just this morning when I checked yahoo news I discovered the benefits. Wow! It’s something.
The retired woman who is a mother of 4 was a planter and a producer of dragon in Ilocos Norte, Phil. She was a former manager of an insurance company and a graduate of Psychology at the University of the Philippines     in Dalian, Quezon City. Now, at the age of 66 she is producing dragon fruits and was awarded by Malacanang last May 23. She received a presidential award as this year’s most outstanding high-value commercial crop farmer. The award came with P100,000 prize. This is something, right?
She only thought of the benefit it may give to her special child who had been suffering from a cerebral palsy. According to Dacuycuy, the lady producer  of dragon fruit and I quote, “her first dragon fruit came from a friend who came from Macau who has heard of the fruit as good for those suffering from frequent constipation problem, common among cerebral palsy patients.” Then she planted the vine that she got in their backyard, that was 6 years ago. Even their neighbors were wondering of what they’re doing but they never told them that they were planting dragon fruit. Because according to them (the family) they were doing a trial and error method of planting.
The lady’s library was the internet during that time. She was checking the     net every now and then on what to do about it. She even found out that the exotic dragon fruit is rich in fiber that helps in the elimination of wastes. It contains high levels of vitamin C, calcium and phosphorous, including other nutritional benefits such as high levels of antioxidants that can help prevent cancer, high blood pressure, rheumatism and urinary tract infection.
I firmly agree that Thailand has many plantations of this fruit because I saw it with my own eyes on how they sell the fruits anywhere. We were wondering why many people young and old love the fruit. It is also being cultivated in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan as what the lady producer said. Now, I am starting to love the fruit and wanted to eat it, huh! Try to look at the picture of the lady producer below.
